New Kingdom Egyptian Seated Deity Statue, ca. 1550–1069 BCE

Description

Carved from pale green grey steatite, the deity seated on a throne decorated with a feather motif, a pillar at his back, wearing a short pleated kilt.

Dimensions: Height: 2 3/8 inches (6 cm), Length: 2 1/4 inches (5.7 cm)

Condition: Missing the head and arms, with some surface wear.

Provenance: RDA private collection, acquired from the NY trade as part of a collection assembled in the 1970’s and 1980’s.
