Miniature Near Eastern Bird Amulet, Middle Bronze Age (2nd Millennium BCE)

Description

Masterfully carved from serpentine, in the form of a stylized bird with a notch around the head and another around the body, wrapped in high karat gold wire for suspension.

Dimensions: Length: 12 mm (0.47 inches)

Condition: Intact and in excellent condition overall. With a gold wire loop attached for suspension.

Provenance: Private NY collection, acquired from the NY trade in the early 2000’s.
