Description
Brown steatite scarab with traces of turquoise glaze, the underside incised with a nefer symbol, a glyph serving as a portable means of well being.
Dimensions: Length: 1/2 inch (1.27 cm)
Condition: Intact and in excellent condition overall.
Provenance: Goddard and Josephine Cook DuBois, New York acquired in Egypt between 1900 and 1907.
Exhibited: Metropolitan Museum 1920-1940, the Museum of Man, 1961.
